The closing date for the 2008 Teaching Awards has passed but nominations can now be submitted for 2009. The closing date for the 2009 Teaching Awards is 5pm on 01 March 2009.
Elizabeth Butler, the first Teach First winner of a Teaching Award, is heading back to her native America but has said she would love to teach in England again.

Headteachers have a keen eye for the brilliant talents that make a teaching assistant an award winner, according to an analysis of recent nominations. Among the silver plato winners more than half have been nominated by their headteachers.
